How far it sticks out from the wall.

Fit
mm
Gap on each side of the remote inside the pocket. Bigger = drops in and lifts out more easily. Min 0.5 mm.

Retention & removal
mm
How far the front wall rises to stop the remote tipping out. Above this the front is open. Min 10 mm.
A cutout in the top of the front lip so you can grab the remote easily.
A 12 mm hole through the floor so you can push a stuck remote up from below.
For wired remotes: cuts a channel through the floor (and front lip) so the cord isn't pinched. Pick the side that matches where your remote's cord exits.

Mounting
Screw: two countersunk holes through the back (heads sit flush inside). Adhesive: a flat solid back for a 3M strip.
